So what’s stopping you? Many people we’ve talked to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of different skincare products, scrubs, cleansers, facial masks, etc. This is precisely why we are here today; we want to help you find the best products, choose an optimal skincare regime, tailored to your specific skin type.
Before we do this, however, we feel it is important to talk a bit more about the skin itself, its structure, the differences in color and the way it affects your skincare regime.
Human differences in skin color are nothing more than adaptations to the geographic location and the amount of UV radiation we were exposed to.
As early humans were evolving, they were migrating into more open environments in pursuit of water and food. These environments were a bit hotter, so we had to change, increase the number of sweat glands found in the skin and reduce the amount of body hair.
With reduced body hair, sun exposure became a more serious thread, so those that lived in hotter areas around the equator evolved a darker skin to protect themselves.
This is where the pigment melanin comes into play. Melanin is a name for a group of natural pigments found in our skin that absorbs light and is capable of dissipating UV radiation. And the amount of melanin in the skin determines its color.
Other than the apparent, skin color, we have yet to determine any conclusive evidence showing a difference in skin properties between these skin types.
Unfortunately, the data is inconclusive since these differences have been minimally investigated by the objective scientific methods and studies; not only that, the data presented in the studies so far is often contradictory.
And since no scientific studies are telling us to do so, we won’t be recommending different skincare products for different skin color. All the products you see here on our website will be safe to use whether you are white, black, Asian…
As we age, our skin ages along with us. And, though this transition can be smooth and undetectable, once you stop to look at yourself in the mirror, you might notice the damage the time has done to your skin.
Of course, taking care of your skin in your 20s will be widely different compared to, say, 40s or 50s; for this reason, we’ve decided to take a closer look at the changes your skin goes through as the time goes by.
According to the dermatologists, this is the golden age for our skin. And, at this time, most of us aren’t even aware of any skin care routines, products, and regimes.
And why would we be? We have a silky smooth, glowing skin without any effort on our part.
However, this is also a time of great danger since most kids aren’t aware of the damaging effect a sun can have on our skin. For this reason, it is advised to keep your kids inside the house during the most intense hours (between 10 AM and 4 PM), teach your kids to use sunscreen and dress appropriately.
There is nothing worse than being “that guy.” Acne, or any skin condition really, can take a tremendous toll on your confidence and produce scars that can last a lifetime.
According to a study by Jean Roberts, based on the information from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), only 27.7% of individuals between 12 and 17 years of age had normal, healthy skin. Which means that 72.3% had some skin related problem (acne or non-acne related conditions).
As you can see from this survey, skin conditions are a serious and a common problem, but the good news is that these issues clear up quite a bit in the later teen years.
Before you even start thinking about buying a skincare product for your acne prone skin, know that it will take 3 to 6 weeks before you start seeing some improvement; and as long as 12 for maximum improvement. As you can see, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Next, we need to determine your skin type. There are four basic skin types, based on which, you should choose your skin products:
Obviously, normal skin is the best of the four, and it is the easiest one to take care. Also, these acne breakouts and blemishes are usually less severe and will clear up on their own as the time goes by.
As for the routine, your primary concern is just to keep your skin clean, remove dirt and sweat, and moisturize:
Washing – one of the best, low-cost ways you can clean your skin is to use soap. But, most people make a mistake of using an ordinary, bar soap on their face and body. This is a problem since most soaps will dry your skin out and make it even more prone to breakouts.
The soap we can recommend for this purpose is Pre De Provence. It’s a shea butter soap with sandalwood and pure essential oils added for aroma. It has a relaxing smell, perfect for your shower regimen.
It will also clean your skin thoroughly without drying it out.
Moisturizing – as far as moisturizers go, your choice is huge. There are 1000s of products to choose from. But, if you want our advice, it is always best to go for something natural.
A natural moisturizer, with organic ingredients, that your skin will absorb quickly without leaving that oily residue.
One of these moisturizers is Brickell men’s daily moisturizer. This is a natural, oil-free product designed to nourish your skin without clogging its pores.
It is advised for people with normal, dry, oily and combination skin as it uses only natural ingredients (100% natural and 83% organic). Some of the components used for this moisturizer are aloe vera, jojoba oil, and green tea. This combination is designed to moisturize your skin, prevent water loss, nourish it, and reduce the signs of aging. Click on the image below for more info and purchase:
Oily skin is particularly problematic as it is prone to both whiteheads and blackheads, in addition to large pores.
Takin care of an oily skin will require a little bit of extra effort since it is advised to clean it two, or even three times per day.
Though it is advised not to pop zits, we all know you just have to pop a few once in a while so make sure you do it correctly! Start out by steaming your face; you can just grab a pot, fill it with water and put on a stove until it starts to boil.
After the water starts to boil, remove it from the stove, grab a towel and lean your head above the pot. You should steam your face for 10 to 15 minutes. Then use an antibacterial soap to wash your hands and pop those zits.
Of course, we are here to tell you; you should not do this. The correct path you should follow is clean, scrub, and moisturize.
Cleaning your skin – people are tempted to use soaps that dry out their skin. They figure, since my skin is oily, I need soap to help me get rid of all that excess oil and leave my skin nice, tight, and dry.
But this is where they are wrong – using an aggressive soap on your (facial) skin will dry it out so much that it will stimulate and increase oil secretion. So, you will end up with an even more oily skin that you’re started out with.
This is why we advise using a mild, gentle soap your skin will quickly absorb and won’t be aggravated by. Feel free to use the soap we’ve recommended in the previous section as it will work well for all skin types.
Face wash for oily skin – as we already stated before, oily skin is the most problematic, so you will want a facial scrub that won’t irritate it any further. This is why we’ve decided to feature a product from the company called Beauty by Earth.
What we love about this company is that they’ve eliminated all the nasty chemical you might find in other skin care products on the market. It does not contain parabens, sulfates, or artificial fragrances.
The emphasis here is on natural ingredients, which is why this face wash is suitable for all skin types. A cool thing about this specific products is that it comes with an incredible customer satisfaction guarantee – if you try it and, for some reason, don’t like it, you can return it and get your money back… no questions asked! You can buy it on Amazon, the image below will take you to the sales page:
Moisturizer – again, the emphasis is on the natural, organic facial toner. We normally recommend those because they are least likely to irritate your skin. If we are honest, they are a bit more expensive, but if you want premium ingredients, you will have to pay a little extra.
The one we would recommend for oily skin is Retinol Moisturizer. It does not contain any artificial fragrances and is paraben free.
The cream is light, does not leave an oily residue and your skin will absorb it nicely. Since it uses natural ingredients, you can safely use it twice a day, in the morning and the evening.
Dry skin is usually very sensitive and can easily be irritated; this is why you need to be extra careful when choosing products to nurture it. We advise products that do not contain perfumes, alcohol, or any other chemical that could irritate your skin.
When taking a bath, avoid using soap on your face as it will only dry your skin even further. Also, make sure the water is not too hot.
Your primary goal with dry skin is to lock in as much moisture as you can. The best time to try and do so is right after you take a shower. Once you get out of the bathtub, only pat your body dry, don’t rub it with the towel. Then rub a mineral oil, a body lotion or some other moisturizing product all over your skin; just make sure it does not contain alcohol.
Our research showed that organic bees wax cream does the trick really well, especially for those with existing skin problems – rosacea, psoriasis, eczema etc. You can try Bees Wax from Pure Cosmetics and see if it suits you:
Combination skin is also tricky to deal with since you have both oily and dry areas. Usually the “T area” is oily (forehead and your nose, and sometimes the chin) while the rest of your face is dry.
Since combination skin is, basically, a combination of the two skin types we’ve mentioned above, you can use the tips we already gave you to take care of it. Cleanse the oily areas using a face was we recommended, and as for the moisturizer, make sure you use a natural one that is suited for both oily and dry skin.
One such moisturizer is brought to us by “Ancient Greek Remedy”. It contains organic, natural ingredients and it is good for face, body, hair, and even nails. You can buy it on Amazon.com:
Once you reach the mid to late 20s you will start to notice your skin getting a bit dry. Now, if you’ve suffered from the oily skin through your teen years, you might think of this as a blessing, but it’s a blessing in disguise.
What it means is that your skin is becoming thinner, losing collagen, and becoming less elastic. Unfortunately for us, this means that the stage for wrinkles is set…
Of course, these lines are still fine, almost invisible but once you step into your 30s, they will become more and more prominent. The most prominent ones are around your eyes (so-called “crow’s feet”) and mouth.
The 30s are also the time when we start noticing cumulative damage sun exposure has had on our skin. You might spot some discoloration or broken capillaries on your face. Your skin might also lose some of its glow due to your poor lifestyle habits (not working out, drinking, or smoking).
As you can see, taking care of your skin in your 30s will require more effort, a comprehensive skincare routine, and a few more skin care products. Here is an example of a skincare regime we would recommend:
Exfoliate – removing dead skin cells will promote skin renewal properties and will help it stay healthy. We would advise you to exfoliate at least once a week (if you’ve still got acne, you can try two times per week).
If you are looking for a good exfoliator, one that is potent, yet gentle on your skin, doesn’t irritate and uses only natural ingredients, you should try Thrive. Thrive is a 100% natural facial scrub for men that does not contain any artificial ingredients.
This scrub is just perfect for removing dead skin cells, wash away excess oils, and other impurities without leaving your skin dry and tight. You can find out more about this amazing scrub, and its ingredients, if you click the image below:
Moisturize – you should apply moisturized every night before you go to bed, whether you’ve scrubbed your face or not (just make sure it’s clean). You can also apply it in the morning but once a day is perfectly fine.
When buying a skin moisturizer, you should look for the one with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) to act as a sunscreen as well; this is especially important if you intend on using it in the morning as well. A product we can recommend is Kyoku Moisturizer for Men, as it come with a SPF of 15 (just enough to keep you safe through the day). You can find out more about this moisturizer if you click Here (you will be taken to its product page on Amazon.com).
Wrinkles – taking on wrinkles early on is always a good idea rather than waiting for them to become more prominent.
Nowadays, it is really hard to find a wrinkle cream with a proven track record; everybody is trying to compete in this huge market, making larger than life claims, but very few manage to deliver. It did take us a bit of effort and time, but we’ve managed to find just that – a reputable manufacturer, offering a solid product that does help reduce wrinkle lines. The product is called Anti Aging night cream and is manufactured by Pure Biology.
This cream combines “the big 4” when it comes to fighting wrinkles – retinol(8%), hyaluronic acid, baobab and “wrinkle fix”.
The manufacturer guarantees this cream will reduce wrinkles and fine lines, age spots, and make your skin firm and tight. Not only that, if you are not satisfied with the results, you can just return the cream, no questions asked. You can find out more and order it here:
Protection – most people feel that you should only put sunscreen when you are trying to get a tan, but this is not entirely true. Every time you go outside your skin is at risk and is being pounded by UV light radiated from the sun (even in the winter months), so applying sunscreen on your face and exposed areas of the skin is a must! Here is the sunscreen we recommend
Hydration – drinking plenty of water and keeping yourself well hydrated will help your skin recover quicker and appear healthy and glowing.
This is a time of major changes when it comes to our skin. The natural life cycle of our cells begins to slow down dramatically along with skin regeneration.
The wrinkles become deep and even more prominent. Sun damage (as noted in this Southeast China Study) dramatic changes in the skin appearance, causing discoloration, sunspots, and rough skin. Another skin survey by the researchers from the Department of Dermatology shows that (in people between 50 and 91) 100% of all test subjectsreported at least one skin abnormality!
There are other changed within the skin itself – it loses fat and sweat glands. Losing sweat glands will lead to increased dryness. This dryness will not only affect your face, but it may also show on your lower legs, elbows, and forearms.
We just wanted you to know that we didn’t pull all this data to try and scare you, we just wanted to illustrate the seriousness of the problems you will be facing so you can better prepare yourself and face the years ready, knowing you are doing everything you can to protect your skin.
As for the skincare routine, it is similar to that we’ve listed above, you just need to make it more intense and use creams and moisturizers rich in anti-aging ingredients such as retinol and glycolic acid.
Another thing you should look into is regular physical activity. Regular aerobic exercise two, or even three times a week will have a profound impact not only on your body but your skin as well. Just try it, you’ve got nothing to lose!
Sunlight is, without a doubt, immensely important for our health and wellbeing8. Sunlight is responsible for:
Of course, sunlight will be beneficial only if you expose yourself to it in moderation. You should also avoid direct sunlight between 10AM and 4PM, as UV rays are the strongest during these hours.
One more thing you need to worry about, especially when talking about skin care, is to wear sunscreen. Sunscreen will protect you from the harmful effects of the sun and safeguard your skin. By doing so, you will “slow down the aging of the skin,” making it look good even in your adult years.
We can all agree that shaving is an important part of your everyday routine as a man, but we can also agree that it can damage our skin. This is especially true if you’ve got sensitive skin, prone to ingrown hair, razor burns, or irritation.
This is why you should always go for natural products specially designed for sensitive skin:
Today, we have an interesting topic for you – we are going to talk about the effectiveness of rosehip oil for acne scars!
But first, I’d like to tell you a bit more about my story. The battle between acne scars and myself has been raging for as long as I can remember. Of course, the struggle started during my teen years when I had terrible acne breakouts.
And then, when I finally got rid of acne, I was left with deep scars and enlarged pores all over my face. And I’ve been looking for ways to get rid of those for as long as I remember!
I’ve tried pretty much everything, a dozen of “acne scar products,” natural remedies such as apple cider vinegar and egg masks and I haven’t noticed any dramatic changes.
But only when I started using rosehip oil for my acne scars, did I experience a more significant improvement.
Before we go on to rosehip oil, I want to talk a bit about acne scars, how and why do they form.
Most acne scars occur as a result of the skin damage during the healing process of acne. Many people believe that scars are “what’s left” after the acne are gone, but as you can see, these scars start to appear while our skin is trying to heal active acne that is present.
There are two basic types of acne scars:
Since the majority of acne scars fall under the category of atrophic, we’ll mostly talk about this those.
As previously stated, atrophic scars occur as a result of collagen loss; what this means is that the scarred areas on the face are slightly depressed, compared to the surrounding skin.
There are three main types of atrophic scars:
Rosehip oil is derived from the hip (fruit) of the rose plant. The cherry like a small ball that is left behind from the flower bloom is called the hip or the fruit.
Do not confuse rosehip oil with rose oil which is extracted from the petals of the flower. They are completely different.
This product will become a staple in your bathroom for your acne scars; there is no question about it.
It may seem strange at first, asking you to apply rosehip oil directly to your acne prone skin. You have probably been brainwashed by the cosmetic industry over the years, just like everyone else.
These, so-called, experts from the skincare industry have been telling you to use only oil-free products to treat your acne and completely dry out your skin to prevent breakouts and help heal.
But let me tell you, oil is not the culprit and it will not cause the acne. The oil from certain fruits actually rebalances the skin and gives the much-needed hydration, while minimizing breakouts.
It will not only restore balance to your skin, rosehip oil for acne scars will also reduce the appearance of the scars on your skin.
If you excessively dry out your skin, it will become dehydrated and make it more prone to more scars! The best thing you can do for your skin is to keep it well hydrated, both on the inside and out.
This means consuming food which hydrates your skin from the inside, drink lots of liquid and follow a good skincare regimen.
And the best oil for your acne scars is rosehip oil. It is packed full of antioxidants, vitamins and fatty acids which will hydrate your skin and improve the overall appearance of scarring.
All you need is 2 – 3 drops of this oil to see the magic happen. Massage the oil on the clean and damp skin every morning and at night, before you go to bed. You will see results in under three months.
Here are just some of the benefits rosehip oil will have on your acne scars and acne-prone skin:
Any good quality rosehip oil will be dark, not clear. Since rosehips are red, its oil will also have a similar color.
If the color of the rosehip oil is even lighter than golden yellow, you better keep looking for another brand. The darker the rosehip oil, the better the quality.
There are three golden rules to follow when applying rosehip oil on your skin:
NOTE: Most of you will experience a little skin purging during the initial stages in the form of breakouts. This is because the rosehip oil detoxes the skin, thereby releasing the skin of any grime that has been built up and trapped in skin pores.
Besides acne scar treatment, you can also use it as a night cream or moisturizer. For an enhanced benefit, you can also use it together with other types of oil.
My favorite is the jojoba oil – the two combined will give you excellent results. If you can, always opt for organic rosehip oil. The chemical free ones are faster absorbing and keep skin protected from harmful chemicals.
When choosing your product, you need to pay attention to the ingredients - you will want only 100% pure, organic rosehip oil.
Why organic? Simply put, this tiny label will ensure you get ingredients of the highest quality and steer clear of harmful chemicals and toxins.
Another thing to keep in mind is the way the oil is produced - look for "cold pressed" on the product label. Why? - Hot pressed oil loses some nutrients due to high temperatures, while cold one does not.
And as for the exact product? - Our recommendation is Aria Starr rosehip oil. It tick all the boxes - it is 100% organic, cold pressed, and quite large (it comes in a 4 fl oz/120 ml bottle) so it will last you a long time.
Rosehip oil comes from rosehip plant, the accessory fruit of the rose plant. The fruit is typically red, but the color can vary from orange all the way to dark purple and even black!
Cold-pressed means that the oil was extracted out of the pant without the use of heat or other chemicals. This guarantees the chemical compound of the oil remains unchanged.
Even thought this product is an oil, it won't make your skin more oily. On the contrary, it will balance your skin and prevent excess oil from being produced.
Our recommendation is to always go with certified organic rosehip oil. This ensures the quality of the oil and guarantees it does not contain any harmful chemicals.
We cannot guarantee for other manufacturers, but the ones we recommend on our website are safe to use even while pregnant.

Looking for the best facial mask for men is arguably not the manliest thing you will do today. Some of you might even do it in secret because you fear your friends will judge you or give you a hard time.
Well, we are here to tell you that trying to get healthier, better looking and more attractive skin is not something to be ashamed of. We welcome it, and this is the main reason we are here today – to help you pick the best face mask you can buy.
Unfortunately, most men don’t even consider buying a facial mask since they think its something only women use. But this can’t be further from the truth since a face mask offers plenty of benefits for your skin.
Not only that, it will also boost the effectiveness of other skincare products you are currently using – face scrubs, cleansers, toners, and moisturizers.
In the next few paragraphs we will be talking more about face masks, the benefits, proper ways of using them, and some things to watch for. But if you want to skip over to the reviews themselves, you can just click the link the link in the Table Of Content above titled “Reviews”.
Should you be using a face mask even though you are a man? Of course, you should! Besides the benefits themselves, it will give you that sense of pampering yourself you only get in a professional skin care salons.
Finding the perfect facial mask for men will help you fight excess oils, unclog your pores, rid you of dirt and grime, and prevent future breakouts and skin irritations. On top of that, it will boost your skin’s circulation and allow your facial skin also to heal itself.
Here is a full list of skin care benefits of using a face mask:
As we’ve already mentioned before, the facial mask will address a whole range of problems that might be affecting your facial skin. It will scrub off the impurities, grime, and dirt, remove excess oils, boost circulation, and allow other skin care products to do their job better.
Of course, cleansing your skin is something you should do on a daily basis, but using a mask will give you a whole new level of cleansing.
It will draw out the impurities “hiding” underneath the surface and give you a profound sense of cleansing you will adore.
Removing these impurities and the dead skin cells build-up will unclog the pores and allow your skin to “breathe.”
Clogged pores allow bacteria to thrive and cause further acne breakouts, so keeping them clean in a weekly skincare routine will ensure a healthy, glowing skin in the upcoming years.
The best facial mask will boost your collagen production, fight free radical damage and make your skin feel tighter and look younger.
By making your skin tighter, it will fight off those early signs of skin aging – fine lines and tiny wrinkles.
In addition to giving you a deep sense of cleansing, men’s facial mask will fight skin dryness by supplying long-lasting hydration.
The ingredients will penetrate deep into the skin, soften it and increase its elasticity, making it appear plump and youthful.
Picking the best facial mask for men will largely depend on your skin type. Most cosmetic products are always geared towards one of the following skin types:
This skin type is, obviously, the best one to have since it’s not too dry nor too oily, it is just right! Normal skin presents itself with:
Oily skin is one of the worst-looking ones since it is marked by large pores, uneven skin complexion and a lot of blackheads. This skin type is characterized by:
Dry skin is hard to take care off since it can easily crack, get irritated or inflamed. Telltale signs of dry skin are:
Another thing to note about dry, sensitive skin is that it is easily irritated. Things such as hormonal changes, UV rays and hot showers and easily damage it.
Combination skin is one of the most common types where your skin has patches of dry, sensitive skin and areas that are overly oily, such as the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin).
The skin of the T-zone will have deep, clogged pores, and a shiny complexion while the skin of the rest of your face will usually be flaky and dry. Your fine lines and wrinkles might also be more prominent than in those individuals with an overall oily skin.
Most men often feel that introducing something as simple as a facial mask won’t do much for their skin, but they can’t be further from the truth. A good mask has a potential of doing a lot more than your everyday skincare product, just give it a chance.
Before applying it, though, make sure you’ve cleaned your face thoroughly since this will boost its effectiveness.
And after you’ve removed it, make sure you apply a moisturizer. A moisturizer will help your skin recover quicker, hydrate it and improve its overall complexion.
If you’ve been reading carefully so far, you might be tempted to use a facial mask on a daily basis, but you really shouldn’t. Applying it will be a bit stressful to your skin, so it is best if you did it between one and three times per week.
For those of you with oily skin (myself included), you are safe to use it up to three times per day. If you’ve got dry, sensitive skin, however, you should only use it once a week.
Patience is the key here; you can’t just slap the mask on, wait for a few minutes and rinse it off. You need a bit of planning as well.
Here are a few steps to help you apply your face mask properly:
Everyone knows that the same product might work differently for different people. We say that it mostly depends on the skin of the individual…
What if this is not the case?
What if one individual put more effort into preparing his skin, thus allowing the product to work better and get better results?
This happens more often than you think and this is the main reason why some people say that a particular product works for them while others complain that it doesn’t.
So, do YOU want to make the face masks we recommend work for YOUR skin?
We are going to share two prepping tips that, if incorporated into your routine, will increase the effectiveness of men’s facial masks (and other skincare products), so you can have the results you deserve!
Though it has an intimidating name, microdermabrasion is a non-invasive (even pleasant) procedure aimed at the outermost layer of the skin – the dead skin cells.
It removes the top layer of dead skin cells, opens up your pores and encourages the production of new, healthy skin.
But that’s not all!
It will help your skin absorb other skincare products.
The good news is you can do microdermabrasion at home, quickly and cheaply.
What you need to get is an exfoliating brush. There are a TON of these brushes available on Amazon, all you need to do is do a quick search and buy the one you like.
*** Our Recommendation ***
Pixnor face brush is one of the best ones out there, and it costs just under $20.
The brush is waterproof and includes 7 different cleansing heads for a full range of cleansing – from mild face massage to vigorous deep exfoliation.
Here is a quick rundown of all its features:
As you can see from the image above, we will be most interested in soft brushes, as we want to gently exfoliate those dead skin cells to allow face mask to do its job better.
Though female beauty bloggers talk about this routinely, it seems as though men are not particularly interested in face steaming.
I honestly don’t know why because it’s AWESOME!
The two main benefits of face steaming are:
If your pores are closed before the skincare treatment, not even the best face mask for men will help you remove the dirt from them!
When it comes to face steaming, you have two options:
Steaming your face with a cooking pot is easy! Here are the steps you can follow:
Why I Don’t Like It!
Though this method of steaming your face is simple and free, I don’t like it.
For one, it’s too hot. There is no good way to regulate the intensity of the heat because moving your head away from the pot will largely reduce the effectiveness of the vapor.
Secondly, it’s hard to breathe!
Breathing, while covered with a towel above a pot full of boiling water will be next to impossible. The vapor will burn your nostrils!
I only tried it 2 times, and it was pure torture. I can imagine this being impossible for those of you suffering from asthma.
Which is why I recommend buying a face steamer device!
They are cheap, easy to come by and, most importantly, practical.
There are a ton of different face steamer options on Amazon, feel free to take a look by clicking this link – The Best Face Steamers on Amazon.com
There are a few key points here you should consider when using a men’s facial mask:
Though this product is advertised as “one size fits all,” we found that it works best for oily and combination skin! Keep this in mind when buying it since users with dry, sensitive skin noted this mask dried their skin a bit more.
This is a 100% natural face mask for men and women, composed of dead sea minerals and mud. It’s specially formulated with grains to clean clogged pores, scrub off dead skin cells, remove excess oils and aid in the natural skin regeneration process.
So why the dead sea mud, what is so special about it? Well, here are just a few of its benefits:
This mask also features the following ingredients: sunflower oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, aloe vera juice and much more to help keep your skin clean and healthy!
This is one of our favorite face masks since it features natural ingredients, it is formulated uniquely for men, and it is suitable for all skin types (especially for sensitive skin). So what makes this mask different?
The primary reason is it is packed full of natural activated charcoal. But what is so great about activated charcoal? First of all, it is not metabolized or absorbed by the body, making it the perfect, safe ingredient for facial masks for men and women.
Activated charcoal is also proven to absorb thousands of times its mass in harmful substances. It will help you clear your face of bacteria, dirt, and grime, and flush out your pores!
Another excellent ingredient this particular face mask features is kaolin clay. Kaolin clay is a naturally occurring substance in soil, highly regarded for its high contents of minerals, soothing and nourishing effect it has on the skin.
This is one of the mildest clay there is, and it will do a fantastic job of cleaning your skin, detoxifying it, and even help with various skin conditions.
In addition to these ingredients, Beau Brummell for men also contains lavender and rosemary oil and high contents of vitamin E.
We get it that some of you are not willing to spend 20$ or more on a face mask (or any skincare product for that matter), and this is why we’ve decided to cover a cheaper alternative.
It is important to note that, when it comes to skin products, the price is mostly dictated by the amount of natural (organic) ingredients that it features.
So why are we telling you this? Well, mostly because we would advise you steer clear of these types of products if you have a dry, sensitive skin that is prone to irritation. If your skin is a bit tougher, you have oily skin for example; you are most likely to use this mask without fear of tenderness or anything going wrong.
That being said, Freeman mask is an excellent choice for those of you who spend a lot of time outdoors, have a more robust, oily skin. Another great thing about this product is that it is beard friendly, so there is no need to shave prior applying it.
MenScience Androceuticals is a Miami, Florida based brand for personal grooming products. It has been around for a while, established in 2004, and since has been featured in many famous men magazines such as GQ, Men’s Health, and won an award for the best face scrub in 2008.
As you can see, this is a serious company that promises “Professional grade ingredients and 100% free of fragrances, dyes, and irritating ingredients.” This makes it perfect for all skin types, including sensitive skin as well as combination and oily.
The users of this mask claim it gives a broad sense of cleaning, absorbing impurities and unclogging their pores leaving them feeling fresh and providing a clear complexion. Natural ingredients found in this product will help revitalize the skin, make it smooth and soft to touch while giving you a thorough cleaning.
One of the distinctive features of this particular mask is its high concentration of green matcha tea which will give you a sense of deep hydration, cooling effect, and leave your skin visibly softer, cleaner and smoother to touch.
We have to say that, during our research, we’ve come across 100’s of different facial masks for men and women, but this product caught our eye due to this fascinating mix of cacao and chamomile. In addition to these two ingredients, there are Salicyl acid, lavender, ginseng, and kelp!
At the same time, this product is free of parabens, artificial fragrances, sulfates and it is made in the US.
This potent natural mix will is what gives it the ability to help people on both ends of the spectrum – those with overly dry and as well as those with oily skin! Just make sure you don’t use it more than two times per week… in most cases once is enough.
The way this product acts is threefold:
This is another one of those masks designed especially for men. Of course, women can also use it, but its manly scent will give it away!
Baxter Of California is a men’s grooming company that has been around since 1965! The story goes that the founder, Baxter Finley, couldn’t find any good skincare products for men, so he decided to develop ones on his own!
The company grew over the years and became the giant in the “men skin care industry” we now know.
Though this mask is advertised for all skin types, we found it works best for people with oily and normal skin! It will clean and tighten the clogged pores, draw out toxins and impurities and leave you with a smooth, clean skin and improved complexion.
Extracts of aloe vera and avocado will also hydrate your skin, but it is always a good idea to top it off with a good moisturizer or a toner.
Definitely, go for it! Once you make the decision and try one of the products we’ve listed above, you will forget all about your insecurities, how you though putting on a mask is not manly enough; you will just enjoy it and reap the benefits!
Your skin will feel cleaner, tighter, more hydrated and healthier overall!
Before we say goodbye, we would like to stress out once again that a facial mask should not be a part of your everyday routine! Sure, it will make your skin look and feel good, but using it extensively might dry your skin out, damage it, irritate or cause breakouts.
It would be best to use it once or twice per week!
Men, in general, fail to appreciate the importance of using a toner on their face as a means of topping off their skincare routine.
Of course, walking up to a shelf filled with various skin products, lotions, creams, scrubs, masks, and toners might feel a bit overwhelming at first. But this is why we are here, to help you pick the best men’s toner for your face and eliminate all the doubt.
Not only that, we want to talk more about the toner itself, why is it so important to use it, what is its role in helping you maintain a healthy face and complexion, and what is the best brand you should use, with regards to your skin type.
Contrary to popular belief, the toner is not explicitly reserved for women, men can and should use it as well!
Toner is a water-based liquid composed of active ingredients designed to address various skin types/problems/conditions. There are three main types of toners:
It is important to note that alcohol in itself is not bad for our skin, it helps us rid excess oil and fights off bacteria, but the percentage is important. If you have sensitive skin, you should steer clear of astringents.
As we mentioned earlier, the toner is a great product to complete your skincare regime – cleanse and hydrate your skin.
Some of the main benefits of using a toner for men are:
Using a skin toner is fairly simple, but you should use it as a part of a skincare routine, rather than using it separately, on its own.
Step one: you should start your cleansing routine with a face wash/cleanser specially designed for men.
Step two: splashing your face with water. Now, some myths are surrounding the use of hot and cold water on your face. The most prevailing one is that washing your face with hot water will open up your pores, while cold water will close them.
This is, of course, not true. That being said, you should use lukewarm water as it will feel good on your skin. After you’ve splashed your face, you should pat it dry with a clean towel.
Step three: now that your skin is nice and dry, you can move on to using a toner. Saturate a cotton pad and gently use it on your face (and neck) to scrub off all the excess residue left by your cleansing products.
Step four: top it off with a moisturizer of your choice. We’ve talked about moisturizers in one of our previous articles, so feel free to take a look here – “Skincare In Your 20s, 30s, 40s and In Elderly”.
I’m sure very few of you even thought about using toner instead or alongside with an aftershave, but it can make a quite a difference.
Our most common complaints, when it comes to shaving, are irritation, rash, redness, bumps, and acne breakouts. But, applying a toner will help you minimize these problems (as shaving is stressful to our skin we can never entirely eliminate a certain amount of irritation).
Now, the choice is yours whether you intend to use a toner in combination with an aftershave. We advise our readers to generally steer clear of aftershaves as some of them are nothing more than alcohol, water, and fragrance. You should instead choose a toner with alcohol, which contains other beneficial, hydrating ingredients as well.
If you are not keen on buying a toner, you can surely make one yourself. Making a toner yourself is not a complicated process, but you do need to pay attention to store it properly.
One of our favorite low-cost toner solutions is apple cider vinegar. We love recommending apple cider vinegar as it will remove excess oils, balance the natural pH of your facial skin, exfoliate and help keep your pores open.
Before applying it to your face, though, you should dilute it. A general rule of thumb is to mix apple cider vinegar with distilled water 3 to 1. Meaning, for every 1 cup of vinegar, you should add 3 cups of water.
From what you’ve read so far, you probably concluded this yourself, but yes, yes it does. And this is why you should choose products designed for your skin type, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Of course, having sensitive skin should not be used as an excuse not to use a toner, quite the opposite. Same goes for oily skin; you might be tempted to go overboard and use toners excessively which is also not a very good idea.
Sensitive skin is the most problematic of the three. Some individuals may have such dry, sensitive skin they are afraid to use any products on it. If you are one of these individuals, our advice would be to see a dermatologist.
That being said, you should keep an open mind as a toner might aid your skin renewal capabilities, making your skin healthier and appearing more vibrant.
A toner can also help your skin deal with a moisturizer – absorb it quicker and more efficiently.
Combination skin is not problematic in itself; it is just tricky to deal with since you have patches that are dry and those that are excessively oily. The most affected area here is the so-called T-zone – forehead, nose, and chin.
But this is precisely the situation where a good toner will shine and help you balance your skin out. It will help hydrate those dry patches while scrubbing the oil off of other and help you clear out those irregularities off your skin.
Just make sure you use mild products, with low alcohol content to avoid irritation.
At the end of the day, you know your skin best. And choosing a toner for men will depend on just that. This is why we advise first to ask yourself what would you like to gain from using a toner – is it a smoother skin, fewer acne breakouts, healthier complexion…
After you’ve successfully answered some of these questions, it is time to move on to the final chapter of today’s article – our list of the best facial toners for men!
This is a natural mens face toner specifically designed for individuals with problematic skin (though it is suitable for all skin types). It uses high-quality ingredients, and it is HANDMADE manufactured in Wisconsin USA by a company called Bloom.
Right off the bat, when you pick up the little box with the toner, you’ll see a small note on the side saying “Please recycle the container.”
Though it seems cute, it is a clear indicator that this company’s mission is to raise awareness and brings more attention to the preservation of our environment.
Not only that, this company is making a difference for women in Kenya (as surprising as it may sound)! Bloom applies a part of its profits to teach Honey soap making skills to promote their economic standings. A truly noble goal.
Back to the toner:
Just like the rest of the products this company is making, this facial toner is also all natural and paraben free!
It comes in a beautiful box (perfect if you are giving this toner as a gift to someone) and the actual bottle is equipped with a double lid system. What this means is it provides an extra layer of protection for those of you that travel a lot.
The bottle is also equipped with a pump so that you can apply it with ease.
You can apply the toner in two different ways:
I prefer to use the cotton pad as it gives me more control and is more convenient that way.
The toner is alcohol-free, with witch hazel and lemon essential oil. It will balance out the pH of your skin, refine the texture of your skin, hydrate it, and even help clear up those tiny blemishes (after you shave).
Some users also reported their pores becoming tighter and less visible.
Another point we wanted to get across is that it’s perfect for people with sensitive skin, prone to allergies. It won’t sting, burn, or hurt your skin in any way, but will get the job done!
For those of you that are still not convinced, this manufacturer also offers an impressive money back guarantee. If you are in any way, unsatisfied with the product, you can get a full refund.
LAVO is another US-based company, located in Hollywood CA. All the products in their arsenal contain organic, natural ingredients, and are paraben and cruelty-free.
Due to its natural formula and quality ingredients, this face toner is suitable for both men and women, and all skin types (perfect for those of you with oily skin).
Some of these ingredients are:
Is this the best face toner for men on the market today? We can’t tell you for sure since we haven’t had the chance to try out every single one, but we can assure you it’s at the very top!
How often should you use it?
We recommend applying it once a day, ideally at night, as a part of your skincare routine (after face cleansing and before you apply a moisturizer).
Using your toner once a day ensures your skin is well-taken care off while making sure your bottle lasts a long time (the bottle is huge – 6fl.oz/177ml).
This is one of the few 100% organic skincare products out there. And, as such, it is perfect for those of you with dry, sensitive skin that is prone to breaking out.
There are no chemicals, no preservatives, and no artificial fragrances in this product. So, why did we list it as #3 instead of #1? Well, this product is predominantly used by women. Even though we are talking about best toners for MEN today, we felt the need to include this one as well, only because it is 100% organic.
As for the ingredients, this product ONLY contains rose flower water. The manufacturer explains it is because other components might trigger Rosacea. So, this toner is 100% safe to use, and will not cause breakouts.
For this reason, you can even buy it for your kids who are just starting out with their skincare routines.
How To Apply It?
As with other face toners we already mentioned, you’ll need to clean your face first and then apply it.
The bottle comes with a handy pump, so you can spray it onto your face, no need to rub it in! The smell is pleasant without being overpowering (though not the most masculine in the world), but it only lingers for 10-20 minutes, so there is no need to worry.
Teddie’s rose water will also help with acne scarring, skin toning, and lighten up some old scars already present on your face.
Give it a go and let us know what you make of it in the comments below!
Chances are you’ve heard of the Weleda company as it has been around since 1921! Considering skin care industry is such a volatile, fast-changing and hugely challenging market, a company that has been around for close to 100 years has to be good at what it does.
This becomes apparent when you read the company’s “Commitment to quality” manifesto.
There, you can read that the company is:
Weleda toner comes in a glass bottle, so it’s a bit heavier, but I prefer it that way; dark stained glass will also protect the content from the light and safeguard its formula better.
As for the product itself, it will effectively remove any residue and impurities other skincare products have left behind. It will also help prepare your skin for the moisturizer, allowing it to be absorbed better and faster.
It will leave your skin clean and tight; some individuals even report a more refined skin texture and reduced appearance of skin pores.
I like this product because my skin is a bit oily… And, as this toner for men contains alcohol, I feel it’s helping my skin deal with all that excess oil production.
We’ve decided to end our list with a budget product coming to us from a well-known, and a well-respected brand Neutrogena.
This product is advertised as alcohol-free formulation, designed to give you that deep sense of cleaning without your skin feeling too tight or dry. The product will also help you combat acne breakouts and keep your skin hydrated.
To use it, you can just pour it onto the cotton pad (as it does not have a sprayer like the rest) and gently wipe your face in an upward motion.
How does it feel on your skin?
If you’ve ever used skin products which contain alcohol, you know that they sting! They sting so much so that, over the years, we developed this belief that “if it stings it means it’s working!”
Of course, this belief was false, and the only reason it did sting is because of the alcohol present.
By removing alcohol from this face toner for men, Neutrogena ensured you don’t feel that tightness and drying you may have felt before.
If you take the time to look at the price of this product and compare it to some of the rest we reviewed, you’ll see that it’s significantly cheaper. So why is it?
The difference in price is mainly induced by the difference in the ingredients used. You see, other products we talked about featured natural, organic ingredients and, as such have to cost a bit more (to factor in the production of these high-quality ingredients).
Though Neutrogena excluded alcohol from this product, it still incorporated some chemically produced ingredients.
If you have healthy skin and are just looking for a cheap, “quick fix” to refresh your skin in the morning (or at night), this is a fine choice.
Also, the bottle is HUGE – 8.5 fl.oz. (250ml)! It will easily last you a couple of months, so go ahead and give it a go!

After only a few days of using this product, you will notice a significant improvement in your skin’s texture and appearance. What makes this men’s facial toner so fast-acting is the fact that its ingredients are both highly potent and organic, which enables you to get quick results without any unwanted side effects.
How is this facial toner used?
The directions are essentially the same as any other product that serves a similar purpose. After cleaning your face, dip a cotton pad into the toner and apply it very softly to your face and neck.
This American-made facial toner was concocted by Herbal Dynamics Beauty, one of the more established brands in the organic skin-care niche. Their products are often characterized by a strong reliance on vigorous natural ingredients, and this particular toner is a perfect example of that.
The list of components that went into the making of this product is exhaustive, to say the least. Virtually all the potent ingredients that you’d like to see in a facial tuner are included; Rose essential oil, organic chamomile extract, organic witch hazel, organic aloe vera, and organic tea extract among many others. This entirely organic formula guarantees that you can apply the toner without worrying about the risk of a potential allergic reaction.
This spray covers all the necessary bases when it comes to skin-care. It is suited for all types of skin and is equally adept at both healing and preserving cells and tissues. The unique blend of flower extract and hyaluronic acids constitute a powerful remedy for aging while the vitamin-rich aloe vera adds a layer of protection to your skin.
As it is the case with any genuine organic brand, one of Herbal Dynamics Beauty’s major selling points is their commitment to using natural ingredients and abstaining from testing their products on animals. To that effect, this facial toner contains no harmful preservatives like parabens and methylisothiazolinone and is entirely free of powerful surfactants and additives such as phthalates.
How is it applied?
This spray has two usages and can be applied at any time. It can either be used as a facial toner or simply as a skin refresher. If you’re planning to use it as a toner, cleanse your face and apply it gently to allow for maximum absorption. If you want to use it as a refresher, just carefully spray it from 10 to 12 inches and let it dry for a while.
If we were reviewing facial toners based on the sleekness and design of the container, the Anthony Astringent Toner wouldn’t have made the cut. But don’t let the relatively bland look of this product fool you, it is one of the top facial skin care solutions in the market and is made by one of the leading brands when it comes to men’s personal care.
Similar to other products discussed in our review, this toner is made from a number of organic elements. The mixture of witch hazel, Aloe, and citrus mint boasts a significant number of superb properties that help protect and heal the skin without any discernible side effects. Another essential element that is included in the mix is Azeloglicina, a natural ingredient that improves skin texture, radiance, evenness, and assists in healthy water retention and hydration.
The Anthony Astringent is ideal for all types of male skin and is especially helpful if you happen to suffer from excessively oily skin. The toner tightens the pores of the skin and helps regulate the amount of oil that is released. The lack of any harmful preservatives or additives makes it a good choice if you are prone to allergies or if you’re simply worried about how your skin will react to certain chemicals.
How to use it
To get the most out of this facial toner, you will need to make sure that your face is entirely dry after you have thoroughly cleaned it. This is highly important because water can prevent your pores from fully absorbing the astringent. After applying it by gently wiping the pad over your face, wait for a minimum of 5 minutes before adding anything else.
This alcohol-free facial toner from Maple Holistics offers one of the best quality to price ratios in the market. This organic astringent is very rich in vitamins and antioxidants and makes for an affordable alternative to some of the more expensive products in this review.
Some of the main ingredients that went into the making of this nourishing lotion include Witch hazel, aloe vera, and lavender. These organic elements combine in creating a potent remedy for pH unbalances, excessive redness, dead skin flakes, as well as various other impurities that prevent your skin from glowing and looking refreshed.
The fact that Alcohol isn’t included in the lotion’s formula means that this toner can be used without the fear of triggering some of the skin rashes that are sometimes associated with exposure to Alcohol. This product also boasts a substantial amount of Vitamins A and E, two elements that are essential to maintaining healthy skin and preventing aging signs such as sagging.
Besides combating aging and improving the overall texture of your face, this toner also serves as an effective and side-effect-free acne treatment for both teens and adults. Its natural compounds aggressively attack the source of the acne by alleviating the pores of the oil that builds up and traps dead skin cells. This will significantly reduce the oiliness of your skin and will help prevent oil from building up again.
While we haven’t personally used this facial toner for men yet, most users have reported a tremendous and palpable improvement few days after using the product. One particular thing that reviewers seem to be unanimous about is the instant feeling of revitalization that occurs mere minute after applying the lotion.
