Human differences in skin color are nothing more than adaptations to the geographic location and the amount of UV radiation we were exposed to.
As early humans were evolving, they were migrating into more open environments in pursuit of water and food. These environments were a bit hotter, so we had to change, increase the number of sweat glands found in the skin and reduce the amount of body hair.
With reduced body hair, sun exposure became a more serious thread, so those that lived in hotter areas around the equator evolved a darker skin to protect themselves.
A Pigment Called Melanin
This is where the pigment melanin comes into play. Melanin is a name for a group of natural pigments found in our skin that absorbs light and is capable of dissipating UV radiation. And the amount of melanin in the skin determines its color.
Different Skin Products For White/Black/Asian Skin Type
Other than the apparent, skin color, we have yet to determine any conclusive evidence showing a difference in skin properties between these skin types.
Unfortunately, the data is inconclusive since these differences have been minimally investigated by the objective scientific methods and studies; not only that, the data presented in the studies so far is often contradictory.

Skin In Your 20s, 30s, 40s and In Elderly
As we age, our skin ages along with us. And, though this transition can be smooth and undetectable, once you stop to look at yourself in the mirror, you might notice the damage the time has done to your skin.
Of course, taking care of your skin in your 20s will be widely different compared to, say, 40s or 50s; for this reason, we’ve decided to take a closer look at the changes your skin goes through as the time goes by.
According to the dermatologists, this is the golden age for our skin. And, at this time, most of us aren’t even aware of any skin care routines, products, and regimes.
And why would we be? We have a silky smooth, glowing skin without any effort on our part.
However, this is also a time of great danger since most kids aren’t aware of the damaging effect a sun can have on our skin. For this reason, it is advised to keep your kids inside the house during the most intense hours (between 10 AM and 4 PM), teach your kids to use sunscreen and dress appropriately.
Teen Years – A Time When All Hell Breaks Loose
There is nothing worse than being “that guy.” Acne, or any skin condition really, can take a tremendous toll on your confidence and produce scars that can last a lifetime.
According to a study by Jean Roberts, based on the information from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), only 27.7% of individuals between 12 and 17 years of age had normal, healthy skin. Which means that 72.3% had some skin related problem (acne or non-acne related conditions).
As you can see from this survey, skin conditions are a serious and a common problem, but the good news is that these issues clear up quite a bit in the later teen years.
Skin Care Regime For Problematic Teen Skin
Before you even start thinking about buying a skincare product for your acne prone skin, know that it will take 3 to 6 weeks before you start seeing some improvement; and as long as 12 for maximum improvement. As you can see, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Next, we need to determine your skin type. There are four basic skin types, based on which, you should choose your skin products:
Normal Teen Skin
Obviously, normal skin is the best of the four, and it is the easiest one to take care. Also, these acne breakouts and blemishes are usually less severe and will clear up on their own as the time goes by.
As for the routine, your primary concern is just to keep your skin clean, remove dirt and sweat, and moisturize:
Washing – one of the best, low-cost ways you can clean your skin is to use soap. But, most people make a mistake of using an ordinary, bar soap on their face and body. This is a problem since most soaps will dry your skin out and make it even more prone to breakouts.

Oily skin is particularly problematic as it is prone to both whiteheads and blackheads, in addition to large pores.
Takin care of an oily skin will require a little bit of extra effort since it is advised to clean it two, or even three times per day.
Though it is advised not to pop zits, we all know you just have to pop a few once in a while so make sure you do it correctly! Start out by steaming your face; you can just grab a pot, fill it with water and put on a stove until it starts to boil.
After the water starts to boil, remove it from the stove, grab a towel and lean your head above the pot. You should steam your face for 10 to 15 minutes. Then use an antibacterial soap to wash your hands and pop those zits.
Of course, we are here to tell you; you should not do this. The correct path you should follow is clean, scrub, and moisturize.
Cleaning your skin – people are tempted to use soaps that dry out their skin. They figure, since my skin is oily, I need soap to help me get rid of all that excess oil and leave my skin nice, tight, and dry.
But this is where they are wrong – using an aggressive soap on your (facial) skin will dry it out so much that it will stimulate and increase oil secretion. So, you will end up with an even more oily skin that you’re started out with.

Moisturizer – again, the emphasis is on the natural, organic facial toner. We normally recommend those because they are least likely to irritate your skin. If we are honest, they are a bit more expensive, but if you want premium ingredients, you will have to pay a little extra.

Skin Care For Dry Skin

Skin In Your 20s and 30s
